The characteristics of carbon and graphite used in carbon brushes can generally be judged from the items of "electrical resistivity," "hardness," "flexural strength," and "bulk density." In the case of metal graphite, the metal content is also indicated in addition to the above items. All data are average values. The testing methods and equipment generally conform to IEC60413. These values can vary significantly due to various environmental factors and operating conditions. Therefore, based on experience, we have established a general range for the values of the two items and compiled them into a table by classification.
